Such as over ten kilometers of staggered hiking trails cut out of the walls of the hill, the Yellow Mountain is one of the most famous mountains of China. It was named after Shi Huangdi of the seventh century, who, legend says, stepped into Heaven from the top of this peak. There are several trails designed to conquer the mountain, but whichever one you choose, one thing remains the same: a continuous staircase leads to the 1,800-meter tall peaks that reach deep into the clouds. They say that people have been walking those stairs for over 1,500 years. While the hike up to the top is rather tiring, the view makes up for it plentifully. The spectacle of these royal wild pine-groves climbing up the steep hillsides continues to tempt visual artists today, just as it has been doing it to those before them.
